About Reflex Rush

Reflex Rush strips an arcade game down to one question: how quickly can you see something and act on it. A target appears somewhere on the screen and immediately starts shrinking. Hit it and you score. Let it disappear, or click where it is not, and you lose a life.

The difficulty is tied to your score rather than to the clock, so the game only gets harder because you are doing well. Targets shrink faster and get smaller the higher you climb, which means a good run ends when you finally hit your actual limit rather than when a timer runs out.

Hitting targets back to back builds a combo that multiplies everything, up to five times. That is where the big scores come from, and it is also what makes a single miss expensive.

How to play

Click or tap the circle before it disappears. The ring around it shows how much time is left. Missing a target, or clicking empty space, costs one of your three lives.

Hit targets in a row to build a combo. Faster hits are worth more points, so do not wait for the target to settle.

Game features

  • Difficulty that scales with your score, not a timer
  • Combo multiplier up to five times
  • Faster reactions score more points
  • Three lives per run
  • Global leaderboard across all periods

Tips for a higher score

  1. 1Move the cursor toward the centre between targets. It shortens the average distance to the next one.
  2. 2A missed click costs a life, so do not swing at a target you have already lost.
  3. 3The combo multiplier caps at five. Once you are there, protecting it is worth more than reacting faster.

Frequently asked questions

Is Reflex Rush free to play?

Yes. It runs in your browser, there is nothing to download and no account is needed to play or to appear on the leaderboard.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Tap instead of click. The play area scales to your screen and the targets stay the same size relative to it, so a phone is not harder than a desktop.

How is the score calculated?

Each hit is worth five points plus up to ten more for reacting quickly, and the total is multiplied by your current combo, up to five times. So a fast hit at a five times combo is worth 75 points and a slow one at no combo is worth five.
