About GameByGames

GameByGames is a platform for free browser games. Every game here runs in a normal browser tab, starts in seconds, and costs nothing to play. There is no launcher, no download and no account required to start.

How the platform works

The site you are reading is not the games. Each game is an independent application built and hosted separately, and the platform handles everything around it: discovery, category pages, search, leaderboards, scores, sharing and analytics. That separation is deliberate. It means a game can be rewritten, moved or updated without touching the site, and the site can grow from a handful of games to hundreds without changing how any single game works.

Games are only embedded from hosts that have been explicitly approved, they run inside a sandboxed frame, and the platform never loads a game until you ask it to. That last part is also why pages here load quickly: until you press play, a game page costs about as much as an article.

The Sri Lankan collection

Alongside the global catalogue there is a dedicated Sinhala and Sri Lankan section. It exists because those games were the reason to build this in the first place, and because they are usually an afterthought on other portals. It is a section of this platform rather than a separate site, so a Sri Lankan racing game is listed as a racing game too.

Publishing a game here

If you build browser games and want yours on the platform, the technical requirements are short: it needs to be playable in a browser, served over https from a host we can approve, and it needs to work inside an iframe. Optional score reporting takes a few lines of code.
